When buying gloves here are some helpful tips.
Kids 4oz or 6oz - Gloves come in weights, not sizes. If your child is under 35kg we recommend the 4oz, otherwise go for the 6oz. 8oz is an option for kids over 50kg also.
Teens/Adults - 10oz is fine for day to day training. Sparring 16oz
Shin guards.
Kids - Only required for kids under 12 who want to compete or spar. - Elastic are fine and are really affordable, Though they will not last long and have minimal protection, leather will last a lot longer and offer more protection, sizing XS/S suits wee shorty's, L suits string beans. Size XS, S and M would cover most kids. Also try Trade Me as often there is gear available.
Teens/Adults All Classes - Elastic is ok. Different brands sizing does vary, however to compare, Scott is XL, Kaitlyn is M.
There are a countless number of brands, the link has options for all budgets, The SMAI ones in the link are great value for money.
Shorts - If you are ordering from Thailand we recommend going up a size on what you would normally wear. If you are normally a M go for a L. The size charts they offer are not normally super accurate, but are a good indication. There is normally a heap of shorts at the gym you can try on by asking someone about your size.
